Zoning and Land Use Overview

 

Zoning Ordinances and Land Use Policy are living entities. They should reflect both the current state-of-the-art in theory and the current, as well as the future needs of the community. This is no easy task and it is made all the more difficult by the diverse nature of various regions and the legal landscape in which government units must operate.

The intent of this section is to provide a vehicle for sharing new ideas and innovative zoning solutions and the goal is to provide a resource bank from which others may benefit. To that end, we ask that you contribute solutions that you have developed and/or ideas that you feel have merit. Rather than submitting whole zoning ordinances it would be very helpful to limit the submissions to the section(s) that you feel are unique and to include a brief overview of the purpose of the section separately.
